Korg monotron Delay CV/Gate mod by MacroDX » Tue Jun 25, 2013 8:07 pm Hi wigglers, I haven't found any detailed info on how to apply proper CV Gate inputs to the delay, so I've tried something myself. Analog circuits are not my strong suit, but I managed to come with a basic working solution.

The Monotron has a CV/Gate mod. CV & Gate inputs are identified on the PCB, so these points are brought to the back of the case, as documented in this diagram (pdf). To connect the SQ-1 to the interface you need to use the "littleBits OUT" and select the option CV A Range to 5V and CV A Behavior to Chroma. The Monotron accepts a CV range.

Mods: Woodbox housing, prints, LFO out, sync out, osc out, filter in, input switch (momentary and toggle), osc triggers, feedback mute, lfo mute. I'll make a demo video coming week. It turned out pretty cool.

Using an adjustable dc power supply is a good alternative to the batteries and is also useful in getting the Monotron to a decent tuning range, just don't dial in more than 3 volts. I built my power supply based on this schematic If you intend to use both battery power and dc power you should include some diodes in your design.

Monotron mod. Soldering cv plug? Hey guys. I modded my monotron for pitch and gate cv. I've got everything fit back nicely in the case and now I'm about to solder two 1/8" plugs so I can connect it to my minibrute. Here's my question: when synths transmit cv through a cable how does it work? Is it just one wire or two that cv travels through?
