There is another beach at Punta Uva called Playa Punta Uva but that one has darker tan sand, Arrecife has more white/tan sand. We spent two whole days at Arrecife laying in our hammocks under the palm trees. The water is a bit rough for swimming but we saw a lot of people having a picnic at the beach and laying in hammocks.

Punta Uva is the prettiest beach in that part of Costa Rica without question, and Arrecife is located on a prime spot right on that beach. With very few dining other options in the Punta Uva area, we ate at Arrecife twice. Service was slow and unfriendly, the place was not clean, food was mediocre, and the prices were high.
